About Kriya Yoga
A Better Life Today & Self Realization
The true meaning of Yoga is union
of man with his Maker through practice of scientific
techniques for Self-realization. The three main paths
are wisdom, devotion and the “royal” or scientific path,
which includes the techniques of Kriya Yoga. The oldest
text extant on the sacred science is Patanjali’s Yoga
Sutras. Patanjali’s date is unknown, though some
scholars assign him to the second century B.C.
The practice of Kriya Yoga is a complete step-by-step method, using mental and physiological techniques, to gradually reduce the distance between body and mind. In Kriya Yoga practice, one seeks to feel the presence of God as the infinite power that is present at each part of the body. As concentration increases more and more, tremendous changes in one’s life and body are experienced.

As we meditate, we go through different stages as outlined in the diagram shown above. We first connect with our physical layer (The Atoms/Molecules Layer). After this, we connect with our life-current or praan layer. At this stage, we gain control over our life-current. Having control over the life-current, we reach the next layer - The Mind Layer. In The Mind layer, the power of The Mind increases and we are able to control our Mind. The blindness of Mind is removed. Then, we enter into The Wisdom Layer where we attain the power to impartially introspect within ourselves. Thereafter, we reach the layer of the heart or hridaya. At The Heart Layer, we perceive bliss-consciousness. It is common to hear the saying that we should do something with all our heart. The heart mentioned does not refer to the physical heart. After this stage, we reach the innermost layer - The Layer of God. In this layer, we realize Oneness with God.
Bodily power and perception is linked with the power of God. When we reduce the distance between body and mind, energy is liberated and we feel an increase of energy within us.
Kriya
Yoga includes this scientific practice of increasing
awareness through meditation but is also a holistic
system with an emphasis on wholesome, constructive
living towards non-violence. Yogi Satyam guides students
to facilitate progress on this path including meditation
instruction techniques. After a preparatory period, Yogi
Satyam does initiate students who are interested and
prepared for advanced techniques. Though, it is
important to note that all great teachers of Kriya Yoga
have declared that Self-Realization is within everyone’s
reach awaiting our readiness to ask for it.
The Tradition of Kriyayoga, as taught by Yogi Satyam and the Kriya Yoga Masters who have preceded him, is best explained in the spiritual classic, Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda, available in many languages around the world and the 1946 version can be read online by clicking the picture of Yogananda.
